Sivaji Vs Dasavatharam

Being a big fan of Superstar how can I stop writing about the Sivaji's
roaring success all over the world. I am writing this only because some people
says that Dasavatharam beats Sivaji's box office records.

From First day of release

Ticket Price

I saw Sivaji The Boss on June 15 2007 Friday afternoon show in Tambaram Vidhya Theatre. The ticket price is Rs.200 in counter itself. But I reserved a ticket two days before the release. But for Dasavatharam, I saw on third day (Sunday) on the same theatre for just Rs.100.

In Sathyam, I watched at 75th Day in big screen. The show is housefull.
The second movie in Mayajaal to finish 100 days is Sivaji, the first is none other than Superstar's Chandramukhi. But Dasavatharam is moved to small screen in 50'th day by Superstar's Kuselan.

Festive Mood

Most of the theatre turns to festive mood from June 13 2007 itself. Police protection
was there for Sivaji. Huge cutouts and banners of Superstar all over the theatre.

But when we saw Dasavatharam there is nothing like that. I know that Kamal doesn't support cutouts and banner culture.

People Satisfaction

When we Sivaji, We are not fully satisfied with a first half. But second half is quite good and the climax is stunning, One of the electrifying performance of Superstar after Moonru Mugam, Basha, Betharayudu (telugu version of Nattamai) and finally Vettaiyan in Chandramukhi.

Dasavatharam is good only in first 30 minutes. Especially, Kamal's first avathar and US shots. Second half is realy boring. Telugu speaking Kamal gets applauce.

Songs

Sivaji songs are fantastic to watch and nice to listen. I would rate Picturization of the songs are excellent.

Dasavatharam's songs are good only for listening except Kallai Mattum Kandal...
Excellent voice by Hariharan and great acting by Kamal, excellent cinematography makes this song watchable. I hated to watch the climax song Ulaga Nayagane ... It is really worst song picturized. But the Song is nice to listen.

BGM

Sivaji's BGM is far better than Dasavatharam. Especially the climax Rap Music and music store fight BGM, Na Na Na BGM(for Superstar BGM) and the interval BGM (also film title BGM).

Dialogues

Dialogues in Dasavatharam is no where near to Sujatha's in Sivaji except climax dialogues and some dialogues by Telugu Kamal.

Humour

Vivek, Rajni combo make people laughter most of the times. But in Dasavatharam only telugu Kamal makes comedy that too only in some places.

BoxOffice

Sivaji is cleary the winner in UK, Malaysia, Singapore and SouthAfrica. Not sure about USA and other countries. In Norht India, Sivaji gone well with the audiences without any subtitles. But Dasavatharam even with sutitles did not pull crowd like Sivaji. In chennai, by sources Dasavatharam is just a crore behind Sivaji. And the Sivaji's Opening is the biggest ever in India. Sivaji the first tamil film to enter UK Top 10 and South Africa Top 10. In Malaysia, the record of Film Jeans broke by Sivaji and in chennai Sathyam Sivaji broke Anniyan's Collection. On the whole, beating Sivaji is possible only by Shankar and Rajini combo i.e Robot.

Report from IndiaFM - site which shows Indian film's box office records

Super-star Rajnikant's SIVAJI-THE BOSS has fetched one of the biggest starts ever in U.K. In terms of screen average, the Tamil film has not only overtaken JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM by leaps and bounds, but also surpassed Hollywood biggies like FANTASTIC FOUR, OCEAN'S THIRTEEN and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN this weekend.

Extra-ordinary!

DASAVATHARAM [Tamil film] has debuted at No. 12 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 1,26,747 [approx. Rs. 1.07 crores] on 19 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 6,671.
The breakdown:- Thursday previews: £ 19,224; Friday: £ 28,772; Saturday: £ 41,589; Sunday: £ 37,162.

The verdict

Finally, Kamal's ten roles could not take on single Mottai Boss MGR in Sivaji.
Do you people think breaking Chandramukhi's records is easy?. Chandramukhi is all time blockbuster and it was broke out only by Sivaji that too because of North Indian media and Shankar, ARR and Superstar Combo. So, it is not at all possible for Dasavatharam to beat Sivaji - The Real Boss (Box Office SuperStar). Dasavatharam may be a second highest collecting film in South India.

My Sivaji Experience

Sivaji The Boss is like a long time festival for me last year mid june. As the movie released just 2 weeks after my marriage, I was lucky to watch the boss in several places in Tamilnadu As, I went together with my wife for the feast in our relative's home.

I saw Sivaji The Boss on Fist day of its release in Tambaram Vidhya Theatre.
The ticket price is Rs.200 in counter itself. After that I have watched twice there.
It is (4th time overall) I saw Sivaji in Ramba theatre Trichy as I didn't get tickets from Kalaiarangam and kauveri on last saturday evening. Even I can't able to get tickets from counter. Finally, I got tickets costs Rs100 from my friend who is a member of Rajni Rasigar Mandram. (In kalaiarangam and kauveri the ticket cost is more than 100). The Theatre was full with 80% of family audience and 20% of youth.
I can able to see people from the ages 3 to 60 in the theatre. Before entering to the theatre we were waiting in a queue from 5'o clock. In Queue, A father was standing with his daughter 4 years old, asking how the pig comes, she was
saying, it comes as herd. And how the lion comes, she says, lion comes alone. I was asking her what is the name of the movie u r going to watch. she told Rajni is the name of the movie. See, that's the power of our Thalaivar. As i already told the theatre was full and there are some fights to get the seats. As the movie commences,
family audience started enjoying the first half. And the second half is enjoyed by rajni fans shouting for every action of thalaivar.

And an important one, Everyone in theatre was upset (and silence
everywhere) when the doctor says sivaji was dead. And my wife was
saying me that she can't control when the doctor says sivaji died.
Everyone was happy only when the Mottai BOSS comes.

Finally, everyone left the theatre with full of joy. After reaching
the home we were talking about the movie. Everyone in my family
reviewing the movie.

My family members told me that the movie was good and they don't want
to look at the logic (as they want to enjoy th movie) and they don't
like the glamour of shreya. And they didn't understand what was
happening while changing black money to white money.

Sivaji is liked by family audience very much. In chennai, I've seen the movie 3 times in tambaram vidhya. But I didn't see such response from audience. B'coz there are less number of family audience.

In Pollachi, I saw the Boss on 50th day and the show was full and the ticket costs
Rs.50 and it was Housefull in Durais Theatre. Sixth time at vidhya Tambaram again. Finally In Sathyam, I watched on

75th Day in big screen. The show is also housefull.

For sure Sivaji will beat Chandramukhi.

Kerala - The God's Own Country

My JOurney from Chennai to Nilambur (Kerala).

I just started my journey to Pollachi from Chennai Coimbedu Amni Bus Stand. I went by Joy Travels which costs Rs.360/person to Pollachi. I have booked a ticket online in ticketvala website. The driver started bus with a typical Hindu God Songs. Then they showed the film "Unnale Unnale" by Jeeva. Watching film when travelling is so enjoyable one. It took 12 to reach Pollachi. It is one of the best bus I had travelled. I reached at 8AM in Pollachi.

After finishing my daily routines, we (myself and my uncle) have started to see father who is taking treatment for his painful hand in Chungathara, near Nilambur, Kerala. At 9:15AM we got a bus from Pollachi Bus Stand to Palakkad. The bus is pretty different from Tamilnadu bus and they costs approximately double as Tamilnadu bus. It costs Rs.23 per ticket approximately 60Km from Pollachi. It took 90 minutes to reach palakkad.

There are several bus stands in Palakkad. If you are new to Palakkad then you would be in trouble. The bus went to a bus stand near Palghat Town railway station. You can see plenty of Tamilnadu State Buses there. Buses available frequently to Coimbatore and Pollachi. We enquired several keralites to catch a bus that will go to Nilambur. Finally we advised to pick a bus to Kozhikode (Calicut) and get down in Perinthalmanna.

I'm very confused with the place names in Kerala. The places in Kerala sounds like places in Tamilnadu.

Chunkathara -- Chunkathurai
Nilambur -- Neelambur
Perinthalmanna -- Perunthalaimanna

Why I'm telling this is that sometimes there is a place which may have same pronounciation as the other place. We have asked how to go Chunkathurai actually Chunkathara. Some one addressed to catch some other bus which goes to Chungam which is a different place in Kerala. So Becareful when pronounciating place names in other states.

The bus started from bus stand and again it went another bus stand which is KSRTC. (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation). I saw there was a bus to Nilambur directly from Palakkad. Ofcourse we dont know about that. The bus travelled via Ulavakkodu (Ulavakkode) where the Palakkad Railway Junction is there. Its nice to see trees all over the way in Kerala. There are houses here and there in between
plenty of trees and plants. In Tamil Nadu it is vice-versa.

Truly, Kerala is God's Heaven. The Kozhikode bus climbing up the small hill to reach mannarkad the town before perinthalmanna. After 2 hours of journey we reached Perinthalmanna KSRTC Bus Stand at 1'O Clock. They said that the bus will come from Palakkad or Kozhikode. We got a KSRTC bus which goes to Nilambur at 1:15 PM. It took an hour to reach Nilambur and costs Rs.23 per ticket.(approx. 41KM) The KSRTC buses are really too fast even in hills that too when raining. At 2:15 we got a mini private bus to Chungathara which will go upto Vazhikadavu. Finally we reached near Marthoma College in Chungathara at 2:30 PM. But still we were struggling to find where the hospital is? Finally my father came to Chungathara bus stand and the hospital is near to the bus stand.

How to get there...

From Palakkad to Nilambur

There are three bus stands in Palakkad, KL.

KSRTC bus stand

Local Municipal bus stand (near palakkad town railway station) and
private bus stand near Indira Gandhi open stadium

Palakkad --> Perinthalmanna

Catch Kozhicode (Calicut) Bus from Palakkad. Perinthalmanna is apprx. 70KM from Palakkad. It Will

take 2 hours of Journey if you travel by KSRTC bus. 58 Ps/Km.

Perinthalmanna ---> Nilambur

You have both KSRTC Buses and private mini buses to Nilambur.

KSRTC Bus will take an hour to reach Nilambur and costs Rs.23 per ticket.(approx. 41KM)
Private buses will take 100 minutes to reach and costs Rs.19 per ticket.

Palakkad --> Trissur (Approx. 76KM)
