Ooty - Sims Park

Coonoor is another exciting place in vicinity of the hill station of Ooty. The wonderful area of Coonoor is the home to some beautiful tourist spots. Regular trips are arranged from Ooty for the tourists' sight seeing.

Named after the former secretary of the Madras Club - J.D Sim, the Sim's Park was built during the late nineteenth century. The Sim's Park has been designed in accordance to the Japanese style. The Sim's Garden of Coonoor has been on the slope of a hill, in the foot of a ravine.


The Sim's Park is a little world for green enthusiasts and people interested in botany. The garden will also please the flower lovers with its wide varieties of roses. The Sim's botanical garden boasts of more than three hundred kinds of roses. The age old eucalyptus trees stand imposingly in the garden.



The plants made 'map of world' is one of the main attractions. The annual flower, fruit and vegetable shows attract a large number of visitors every year. The nature pours all its colors to the flower garden in this time of the year.
